Old site, real business, lost in search.
Cache Valley Fire Protection is a 40-year-old family-owned commercial fire protection company based in North Logan, Utah. They service fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and backflow prevention across Utah, Southern Idaho, and Southwest Wyoming. Forty-plus years of operation, eight employees, fifteen five-star Google reviews.
The old site was three pages on a legacy WordPress install. No schema markup, no SEO discipline, a floating booking widget on every page, and an outdated hosting setup. Direct typing-in-the-name traffic was working. Nothing else was.
The brief was simple. Build a site that ranks for the queries the business actually depends on, like "fire extinguisher inspection Logan UT" and "backflow testing Cache Valley". Keep the legacy reports portal that customers use to download annual inspection records exactly where it lives, without breaking anything around it.
Seventeen pages. One stack. No fragile parts.
Seventeen pages. One per service, one per real service area, one per critical local query. Lightweight static build, deployed to Netlify. A shared-script pattern so updating the phone number once updates it everywhere.
The reports portal stayed where it was. A subdomain pointed at the original WordPress host, untouched. The marketing site moved cleanly to Netlify, the apex routed to the new build, and the legacy DNS records for transactional email were preserved through a manual TXT verification flow so nothing went dark in the migration.
A full schema stack went in before launch. LocalBusiness, AggregateRating, FAQPage with twenty-two questions, Service blocks per service line. Google Analytics 4 and Search Console verified as a Domain property. UTM-tracked links to the existing booking tool so every conversion attributes to a real source.
